A Necessary Stillness
Today was Friday, Day 105. Officially a day off from both training and work, yet it felt different because I have already been resting for a while due to my thumb injury. I woke up late and allowed myself a slow morning. Breakfast was genuinely enjoyable, something I have learned not to rush.
Yesterday was exhausting and demanded sacrifices, especially with a terrible sleep pattern that carried into the night. This morning, I tried to reset properly with a cold shower and a calm mindset. I did not have house chores to worry about since everything was handled the day before, which allowed the day to stay light.
In the afternoon, I went out briefly to buy food and focus on proper nutrition. I stayed in for most of the day. I did not go to the tournament. A mix of laziness, realism, and acceptance settled in. Watching from the sidelines would have been harder than staying home. Competing is not happening this year, and that truth is something I am learning to accept. There will be time next year.
The evening was spent clearing tasks in advance to ease the coming workload. I usually stay ahead, but this period has demanded more than usual. Training did not happen today. Rest did. My body is improving slowly, not at the pace I want, but it is moving forward.
Supplementation stayed consistent. Omega 3 and D3K2 with breakfast. Collagen, zinc, and vitamin C in the afternoon. No L citrulline since there was no training. Whey protein and creatine still made sense for recovery, and magnesium closed the day before sleep.
Day 105 was calm, quiet, and grounded.
Choosing Patience Over Pressure
Some days test ambition not by how much you can do, but by how well you can wait. Today reinforced that protecting health is part of discipline. Accepting rest without guilt is a skill that takes time to build.
