On Day 63 I rested — no training, just calm routines, cold shower, breathwork, nutrition and recovery. A gentle reset after a demanding week.

A Day Wrapped in Stillness

Day 63 I didn’t expect perfection and that’s exactly what made today real. I woke up with sore calves not unbearable, but noticeable enough to slow me down. The sunlight streamed through the window and gently forced me awake. I couldn’t fall back asleep, so I accepted the morning and rose to start my day.

I began with early house chores, quietly moving through the familiar motions. A cold shower followed, sharp and refreshing, washing away the sleepiness and grounding me in the moment. The rest of the day unfolded slowly. I paid attention to what felt good and what my body needed.

In the evening I handled one final revision task for exams a small adjustment after my supervisor’s request, then notified parents that the updated worksheet was uploaded. It took only a little time. Beyond that there was nothing pulling me into stress. I skipped a nap. Instead I simply stayed present. I ate well, nourishing myself with good food.

I reached out to my boxing coach. He confirmed he’ll be at the tournament tomorrow knowing that lifted my mood. I spent time doing breathing exercises, a gentle practice to settle my mind and body. No calisthenics. No hard training. Just rest, recovery, and intention.

Flowing With the Flow

Today was not about pushing, lifting, or testing limits. It was about giving my muscles and nervous system a break. My calves reminded me that recovery is as much a part of progress as training. The cold shower and breathwork felt like a gentle reset button a way to stay in tune with my body while letting it heal.

I used the downtime to reflect on everything that’s been building up over the past days workouts, soreness, training load, stress. In that quiet space I felt gratitude for discipline, but also humility recovery is part of the discipline.

Weekly Training Focus Summary

📊 Training Progress (Days 57–62)
  • Day 57: I returned to training, carefully observing my rib injury. I skipped boxing and Jiu-Jitsu to stay safe. I eased into Muay Thai after weeks away, completed warm-up, combos, and conditioning. There was slight rib discomfort during ab work, but otherwise I felt good. Cold shower, proper nutrition, rest

  • Day 58: Exhaustion from exam workload made me skip gym and calisthenics. I prioritized rest and nutrition instead.

  • Day 59: After cold shower and breathing exercises I headed to training. Boxing session involved rope skipping, shadowboxing, and sparring. Contact was light but focused. Rib pain surfaced but stayed manageable. After late-night grocery shopping I ended with a cold shower and rest.

  • Day 60: Arms were sore from boxing. I opted exclusively for a wrestling session — warm up, partner drills, sprawls and slides. After one hour I stopped to listen to my body. Cold shower and light dinner restored calm.

  • Day 61: Despite fatigue from teaching, I squeezed in boxing: solo warm up with rope skipping, shadow boxing, then light sparring with a younger student. Rib pain returned during ab work but I wrapped up quietly with a cold shower and rest.

  • Day 62: The training comprised wrestling and MMA: long warm up, mobility, reaction drills, partner switches, takedowns, groundwork, multiple sparring rounds. Performance felt strong but the session ended with a leg cramp. A late-night shop run and cold shower closed the day.
