A Rushed Morning and a Missing Routine
Day 65 marked the beginning of the working week, and since it is Sunday here, I returned from the weekend without setting my alarm. I woke up extremely late and barely had time to grab anything to eat, which was quite unexpected given the usual rhythm of my mornings. No cold shower, no breakfast at home, just rushing out the door to catch the bus. It felt like a chaotic start to the day, which I usually try to avoid.
On the way to school, I did my breathing exercises, letting them ground me and sharpen my focus after such a chaotic start. This practice has always been a vital part of my routine, helping to clear my mind and prepare me for the day ahead. Despite the rush, I was determined to find a moment of calm amidst the chaos.
When I finally arrived, the day felt lighter. As usual for Sundays, I did not have many teaching hours lined up. I had one revision session scheduled, then spent the rest of the time supervising students, allowing me to observe and interact with them in a more relaxed setting. Students were dismissed earlier than usual, which made the morning surprisingly smooth. It felt like an easy start to the week despite how it began, providing a welcome contrast to the hectic morning I had experienced.
Afternoon Rest Before a Heavy Schedule
Knowing that I had four revision sessions waiting for me later in the day, I made sure to go home, eat, and take a short nap. I did not want to sleep too long since the evening was packed with commitments, but I understood the importance of recharging my energy. I believe that a little rest can help rejuvenate not just the body, but the mind as well.
My goal was simple yet important. Finish the revisions, accept that I would likely miss wrestling and MMA, and hopefully still make it to Jiu Jitsu for at least one hour instead of the usual two and a half. The thought of missing my martial arts training was somewhat disheartening, but I was determined to make the best of the situation and stay flexible with my plans.
I was trying to stay optimistic throughout this busy day, reminding myself that adaptability is key in both life and training. Each moment spent focusing on my responsibilities felt necessary, and I kept hoping to create some time for my physical activities.
A Long Delay and Missed Training
But the evening took a turn that I did not anticipate. My last students arrived thirty minutes late, and after the session concluded, I had to speak with the parents about several important points regarding their child's performance. The conversation took much longer than expected, and I could sense my window of opportunity to train slipping further away.
By the time everything was finished, all training options were gone. I missed wrestling, MMA, and even the shortened Jiu Jitsu session I had hoped for. I felt a wave of disappointment wash over me, as I had been looking forward to each of these activities all day. The build-up of anticipation was ultimately met with frustration, and it taught me that even the best-laid plans can falter.
I had been looking forward to training all day; so missing everything was frustrating. But not every day flows the way we want. Some days are simply about accepting the schedule and preparing for a better tomorrow, reminding me that life involves both highs and lows, and resilience is crucial.
Day Sixty Five Lesson
Day 65 reminded me that discipline is not only about showing up. It is also about holding the right mindset when plans fall apart. I did my work well, I stayed committed to my responsibilities, and even though I missed training, I kept my focus for the next day, understanding that growth does not solely come from physical exertion. There are lessons in every experience, and I was determined to take this one to heart.
Day 65 complete. Not every day will be productive physically, but each day offers a chance to stay aligned with long term growth. The grind continues.
