A Peaceful Start to the Final Workday
Day 69 was a Thursday and the last working day of the week. I woke up early, took a refreshing shower that helped to invigorate me, got dressed neatly, and headed out to school with a sense of purpose. On the way, I took some time for myself to do my breathing exercises on the bus, focusing on deep breaths and relaxation techniques. My surroundings felt tranquil, and right from the start, the day felt unusually calm, embracing me with a sense of peace that I rarely experience on an ordinary school day.
When I arrived, I quickly realized how different the day would be compared to others. Students had no exams scheduled, and most other schools were already on break. Surprisingly, no students showed up at all. The usual hustle and bustle were replaced by a serene quietness. Only teachers and administrators roamed the hallways, and the school was notably quiet, almost empty, and peaceful in a way I rarely experience. It was such a stark contrast to the usual chaos that permeates the school environment.
A Productive and Satisfying Morning
I used the calm atmosphere to focus entirely on finishing my exam corrections, taking full advantage of the peaceful environment. It took about an hour and a half to diligently complete mine, ensuring that every detail was checked meticulously. After that, I stayed a little longer to offer assistance to a colleague with his corrections as well. I ended up being one of the last teachers to leave, but I still managed to finish earlier than usual, which was a pleasant surprise.
By the time I left, all my exams were corrected, and the only thing left now is the task of uploading the marks into the system. That one task alone made the day feel like a resounding success. I walked out of school feeling satisfied and considerably lighter, with the weight of my responsibilities lifting off my shoulders as I exited the building.
Rest and a Well Earned Meal
Once I got home, I took a much-needed nap and allowed myself to truly rest without any interruptions. Later, I indulged in an extremely good meal that my family had prepared. It felt like a well-deserved reward after a long and demanding week of work. The calm of the day carried into the evening like a gentle breeze, and for once, I did not feel rushed or overwhelmed by the typical evening obligations.
Choosing an Event Over Training
Interestingly, I did not train today as I usually do. No MMA sessions, no wrestling practices, and no boxing workouts. Instead, I made the conscious decision to attend an event I had been looking forward to for quite some time. I decided to allow myself one full day away from my training regimen, thinking it would be refreshing.
Unfortunately, the plan did not go as I had expected. The event took three long hours to reach and another three hours to return home. I barely stayed at the event, did not enjoy it as I had anticipated, and honestly felt that it was a waste of time and money. I came home very late, almost at dawn, feeling somewhat dejected that I sacrificed my training for what turned out to be a lackluster experience.
At least tomorrow is Friday, and I will be able to sleep in and recover. I just hope this late night does not disrupt my sleep schedule more than it already has, as maintaining a consistent sleeping routine is crucial for my overall well-being.
Day Sixty Nine Lesson
Not every decision we make leads to the outcome we expect or hope for. Today reminded me that rest and balance in life are essential, but so is being intentional with how I spend my energy and time. Skipping training for something meaningful can definitely be worth it, but when it turns out to be an unfulfilling experience, the lesson still holds value and serves as a reminder for future decisions.
Day 69 complete. The road continues.
