Morning A Rough Start
Day 87 was a Monday, and it started in a very rough way. I woke up very late, far later than I wanted to. The moment I opened my eyes, I knew the day was already off rhythm. I barely had time to get myself ready, and there was no space to even think about routines.
I skipped the cold shower completely. I was already feeling sick, and pushing cold exposure in that condition would have been a bad decision. On top of that, I was late, so I had to accept it and move on. Not every day can be perfect, and this was clearly one of those days.
Workday Fatigue
The workday itself was long and draining. I had an extra substitution session, five other sessions, and supervision duty. It was a lot, especially considering how tired I already felt. The students were clearly exhausted as well, and the overall energy was low.
Despite the fatigue, nothing bad happened. I pushed through the responsibilities and focused on getting through the day without adding more stress to my body. By the time everything was finished, I had only one goal in mind which was getting home and resting.
Afternoon Crash and Sleep
As soon as I got home, I dropped everything and went straight to bed. I did not try to eat first or do anything productive. My body needed rest, and I listened. I ended up sleeping for about three hours, deep and uninterrupted.
When I woke up, I felt slightly better mentally, but physically I was still very tired. I had a very good meal and allowed myself to enjoy the rest of the day without pressure. There was no guilt about not training. At that moment, recovery was the priority.
Skipping Training With Intention
I did not go to the gym at all on Day 87. I had briefly thought about going for a short run or doing something light, but my left knee was in very bad shape after the previous day’s session. Even walking felt uncomfortable, and there was no point in risking further damage.
My body felt heavy overall. Even push ups felt unnecessary and forced. The only thing I worked on was light abdominal engagement, nothing intense, just enough to stay connected to movement.
Nutrition Supplements and Recovery Focus
Even though I did not train, I stayed disciplined with my recovery nutrition. Throughout the day, I took vitamin C, zinc, collagen, D3 K2, Omega 3, whey protein, and creatine. The only supplement I skipped was L citrulline.
Before going to sleep, I took magnesium to support recovery and relaxation. The entire day was intentionally designed to help my body heal rather than break it down further.
Reflection Learning to Wait
Day 87 tested my patience more than my endurance. I really wanted to train. Mentally, the desire was there, but physically, my body was clearly not ready. Ignoring that would only delay progress.
This day reminded me that recovery is not a setback. It is part of the journey. Knowing when to rest is just as important as knowing when to push.
Day 87 Lesson
Today taught me that discipline is not always about doing more. Sometimes, true discipline is stopping, resting, and trusting the process.
Day 87 complete. Recovery comes first, and the road continues.
